Privacy notice
In short: if you register interest, we keep your name, organisation and email address so we can contact you about MedUI. We don’t sell or share them, the website sets no cookies and runs no tracking, and you can ask us to correct or delete your details at any time.
Who we are
This website is run by H. Eviston (Medical) Pty Ltd, trading as Boonah Medical Centre (ABN 54 010 651 475), which develops MedUI (“we”, “us”). We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This notice covers the website only. MedUI itself is software that each practice installs and runs on its own systems; the patient records it works with stay with that practice and are not sent to us. Each practice is responsible for its own patients’ information.
What we collect
- When you register interest: your name, your organisation and your email address, and the date and time you submitted them.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to write.
- When anyone visits: our web server records, as any server does, the visitor’s IP address, the page requested, the time and the browser type. We use these records only to keep the site running and secure, including limiting repeated form submissions.
Please don’t send us patient information through the website or by email.
Why we collect it
To contact you about MedUI: early access to the source code, setup help, walkthroughs, and news about its release. We don’t use your details for anything else, and we won’t add you to any other mailing list.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell, rent or share your details. They are seen only by the people working on MedUI. Your submission is delivered to our mailbox by our email provider, Fastmail, which handles it on our behalf. Fastmail’s servers are in the United States, so your details are sent to, and stored in, the United States.
Fonts from Google
The website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which may be outside Australia, and Google receives your IP address. The site loads no other third-party content, sets no cookies, and uses no analytics or advertising tools.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Submissions are kept in our mailbox, which is hosted by Fastmail on servers in the United States. We keep your details until MedUI’s early-access period ends and for twelve months after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Web server records are kept for no more than 30 days.
We take reasonable steps to protect your details from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to have them deleted, by emailing interest@medui.com.au. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Questions and complaints
Email interest@medui.com.au with any question or complaint about how we have handled your information. We’ll acknowledge it within a week and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992.
Changes
We’ll update this notice if what we collect or how we use it changes, and show the date of the latest version above. A fuller privacy policy will be published with the software at release.
